How we adapt the curriculum and learning environment for children & young people with SEN

SEN Curriculum At Chester-le-Street CE Primary School

We adapt the curriculum and learning environment for pupils with SEN:

  • We ensure that children who need additional support have access to it and we provide additional resources to support their learning.
  • We have additional rooms within our school which allows children to not only associate learning within their classroom but around the school too.
  • We have a great understanding of the children in our school and ensure all of their needs are met through differentiated work.
  • If children require personal spaces in the classroom or around school we do our best to ensure this is accessible. We have a break out rooms which can be used as a sensory area, a trim trail for physical breaks and specialist teaching rooms.

More details on how we adapt information, our environment and curriculum can be found in the Accessibility Plan which you can find in the School Policies section of our website.

This SEND Information Report should be read alongside the school’s SEND Policy, the Equalities Information and Objectives and the Accessibility Plan.
