Our Classes

At Chester-le-Street CE Primary School, we believe that every child deserves a tailored learning experience that meets their individual needs while fostering creativity and curiosity. Our classes cater to children from 2 to 11 years old, with one class per year group, each averaging 30 pupils.

We begin with Nursery Class, providing a nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Following this, we have ten mainstream classes, covering Reception through to Year 6, where each child continues to build on their learning journey in a supportive and engaging atmosphere.

In addition, we offer specialized support through our two ELP (Enhanched Learning Provision) classes, which are designed for children who need extra help to thrive academically and socially. These classes provide smaller, focused learning environments tailored to meet individual needs for children with an Educational Health Care Plan. 

This structure allows us to ensure that all of our students, regardless of their starting point, receive the attention and resources they need to succeed.
